![]() I know wherethis is got.are we there yet? Maybe it's the writing style or maybe it's me. why do I have to listen to all of her emotions and feelings.why couldn't she be less annoying?! Ok I m getting carried away but towards the end I was like ok. Cara and for that matter the other characters have less dialogues and more reflection going on.Cara specifically thinks a lot and it's like even when she's angry she remains goody goody and is the better person. I don't know.I couldn't connect with any of them and I actually felt that by the end when some twists rapidly happened I was just bored and wanted it to finish. And Kim was this goddess like woman who was trying to keep calm and the general pacifier. All of the characters are just 2 dimensional. Heidi, she gets attention from no one to be Frank so what made her spoilt I could not guess.Maybe she is an over thinker and starved for attention, whatever the character is completely unexciting, like a cardboard.Betty and Mick are Caras parents who are again a caricature of interfering parents and Lauren and her husband (Shane's mom and dad) are the same but are wealthy. Then we have a little sister who's spoil and is starving for attention. It had some twists and turns but unlike hopeless and gullible Cara I could see it happening.Ok let's start from the beginning, we meet Cara who is goody goody person, loved by everyone, the boss and her family adore her. Then theres Shane, he's the male and less irritating version of her with a bit of badness thrown in, to make him a bit more worthy( once he works out his problems he will be spotless) for precious Cara. Will Cara and Shane manage to overcome all obstacles? Or will their dream wedding turn into a nightmare? Threats are made, family secrets are revealed, and things turn decidedly stormy. ![]() But when they announce their plans for a beach wedding on a beautiful Caribbean island, there is uproar. So she and Shane determine to make a stand and do things their way. With tussles over the ceremony and the size of the guest list, sibling rivalry and insistent in-laws-to-be, Cara can see the vision she has of her big day being ripped to shreds. When funny, kind and gorgeous Shane proposes, Cara is over the moon, and can't wait to share the news of their engagement with all their friends and family.Įxcitement, however, quickly turns to apprehension when it seems that everyone has a fixed idea of the perfect wedding and offers to 'help' with the planning. It's the characters that made it so annoying for me. Bec explains: "I'm a big fan of the Back To The Future films and 2015 is the year they travel to in the second film.I feel bad to go against the tide but I didn't enjoy this Novel. The couple are currently thinking about holding the marriage ceremony in 2015. The celebrations continued all night, with Hill admitting "we got very drunk". On returning to the UK, the couple have been involved with The Gilded Balloon, with Bec by Popular Demand scheduled at the venue at 4pm each day until 25th.Īfter the show the duo headed to the venue's Loft Bar where fellow patrons bought them champagne to toast the good news. She jokingly adds: "I was incredibly shocked, but also a bit annoyed that his answer wasn't actually a valid response to my question about mugging."īec and Gavin first met at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2008, where Scottish-born Gavin was working front of house. "Gavin wouldn't let me have the ring until I'd finished the gig so I performed the last bit of the show with tears running down my cheeks." She confirms: "I said 'yes' - well, I cried in happiness and nodded my head!"Īs they say in showbiz, the show must go on though. He had returned to London, so I had no idea he was back in Edinburgh and was hiding at the back of the gig." Hill had an inkling that Gavin might propose one day, but she had no clue he planned to do it at the festival this year. ![]() at which point Bec's boyfriend Gavin emerged from the shadows and got down on one knee.īec told us "At first, when the voice came from the back of the room, I just assumed it was a psycho Twitter follower or something like that, ha ha, but then Gavin emerged and I was really confused." and yesterday I got an un-expected answer back."Ī call from the shadows at the back of the gig gave the suggestion "I would propose". That audience member was Hill's boyfriend, Gavin, rather than a random comedy fan - and the good news is she said 'yes'.īec explained to us over the phone how it all happened: "Four fifths of the way through my show I ask the audience whether anybody has a backup plan for if they get mugged. The UK-based Australian stand-up, who is currently at the Edinburgh Fringe, was on stage performing her show Bec by Popular Demand when she received the special question from an audience member. Yesterday Bec Hill (pictured) got a heckle she wasn't expecting.
